:  The dark grey Breccia di Billiemi and the Ammonitico Rosso of Piana degli Albanesi, two coloured stones widely used in monuments both outdoor and indoor in Sicily, undergo significant decay as effect of weathering: colour change and development of surface microcracks which affect not only the chromatic aspect but also the state of aggregation. The dark grey Breccia di Billiemi and the Ammonitico Rosso of Piana degli Albanesi, widely employed outdoor and indoor in monuments in Sicily, undergo significant alteration processes, affecting not only the chromatic aspect but also the state of aggregation. In a previous paper [1] the effects of accelerated weathering in laboratory was compared with natural ageing in the urban environment. The study included the description of lithofacies, the characterisation by means of petrographic and physical-chemical techniques and accelerated weathering experiments on both lithotypes.

In vitro comparison of the retention capacity of new aesthetic brackets.

Tensile bond strength and bond failure location were evaluated in vitro for two types of aesthetic brackets (non-silanated ceramic, polycarbonate) and one stainless steel bracket, using bovine teeth as the substrate and diacrylate resin as the adhesive. The results show that metallic bracket had the highest bond strength (13.21 N) followed by the new plastic bracket (12.01 N), which does not require the use of a primer. The non-silanated ceramic bracket produced the lowest bond strength (8.88 N). How can droplet formation occur in endodontically treated teeth during bonding procedures?

PURPOSE: The aim of this in vivo study was to clarify how blistering formation occurs along intraradicular dentin bonded interfaces. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Patients were selected and post space was prepared in vivo in endodontically treated teeth. Post space was etched, dried with ethanol, and bonded with one of the following adhesive systems: All Bond 2, XP-Bond, Clearfil SE Bond, Xeno III. The four adhesives were considered as representative of each bonding system class. Surface debris of canal walls after post space preparation in endodontically treated teeth: A scanning electron microscopic study

Abstract Purpose To evaluate surface cleanliness of root canal walls along post space after endodontic treatment using 2 different irrigant regimens, obturation techniques, and post space preparation for adhesive bonding. Aim  To evaluate microleakage of a flowable composite used as a protective isolating base, applied with different adhesive systems. Methodology  Seventy root-filled teeth were divided into seven groups. A flowable composite base (Tetric Flow Chroma) was used with three adhesive techniques (Syntac, Excite, Excite DCS; in the three cases with and without acid etching) and in a control group without dentine conditioning or adhesive placement.
